Marcela Fernandez
Founder and Executive Director
She is a graduate of the Victoriano López School of Music with a specialization in viola. In the United States, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Performance with honors from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and a Master’s degree from the University of Miami, both through scholarships. She has performed with orchestras that accompanied artists such as Gloria Estefan, Chick Corea, and many others. In 2012, she worked at the Simanof Orchestral Foundation, led by Susan Siman, where she discovered her passion for music education. In 2015, she returned to Honduras and founded Proyecto Uremu, where she currently serves as Executive Director. In 2018, she completed a diploma in Social Innovation in Vienna. In 2023, she participated as a guest conductor during SIMANOF’s international tour in France and Italy and received the Quetglas Award for her work and impact in music education.

Lila Villalobos
Director Coral, Flute and Theory Teacher
Professor Lila Villalobos completed his studies at the School De Música Victoriano Lopez in 1981. In 1993, he completed his degree from
Primary Education Teacher at the School Normal Cloth. His passion for education musical took her to work as a flute, choir, music language, music appreciation and music pedagogy teacher at the Victoriano Lopez School and the School of Application musical for more than 15 years. Great Honduran artists have passed through its halls, in which it has left a brand being this his great legacy.
After being away from teaching for a while, he has returned with new energy to continue teaching his flute, choir and orchestra classes with the students of Proyecto Uremu and the White Dove School.

Nahun Galeas
Teacher Winds
He began his musical studies at the Victoriano López School of Music at the age of 14, taking the trumpet as his main instrument under the chair of Maestro Roberto Montes. In 2007 he was the winner of the Young Soloists contest held at the Victoriano López.
Throughout his career he has played with great national and international artists such as Guillermo Anderson, Moises Canelo, Eddy Herrera, Juan Carlos Alvarado, Julia Pimentel, Gerardo Reinoso and in different orchestras in San Pedro Sula. He also participated in the 2017 "Instrumenta" International Festival held in Oaxaca, Mexico and in 2018 he was invited to participate with the Rubén Darío Symphony Orchestra of Nicaragua.

Erick vega
Cello Master and Assistant Conductor
He began his musical studies at the Primary School of Musical Application, continuing in 2010 at the Victoriano López School of Music with cello as the main instrument and under the tutelage of the Master Cheyenne Dominguez. Erick has participated in different musical encounters and received master classes with Masters such as Luis Miguel Rojas, Michigan State University, and Paul Christopher, Northwestern State University of Louisianna.
In 2018 he joined the project as a cello teacher and is in charge of directing the rehearsals by sections of violins, violas and cellos in both nuclei of the program. In January 2019 he acquired the certificate in Orchestral conducting awarded by maestro Raul Munguía, conductor of the Pittsburg State University orchestra.

Sergio rivera
Guitar Master
Singer, Composer and Lawyer. Self-taught guitarist, member of the San Pedro Sula University Choir from 2009 to 2014. Due to his vocal talent, he received an academic scholarship to complete his studies.
Founder of the alternative rock band sampedrana Alterna in 2013 and singer in the sampedrano rock group Fylo. With both bands he has had the opportunity to participate in different events both in San Pedro Sula and the rest of the country. In 2019, he joined as a guitar teacher in Proyecto Uremu, Chamelecón nucleus.


Leticia Reyes
Teacher Assistant
She began her instrumental study of violin in 2015 under the tutelage of director Marcela Fernández, joining as an assistant teacher at Proyecto Uremu in 2016, gaining experience over the years. Participate as a singer in events with the Core Choir Presentation Centeno and Core Primero de Febrero. She has been a piano and violin teacher at Harmony Music School since 2017, in charge of teaching orchestra and music reading classes at White Dove School for two years.
In January 2019 he obtained a certificate in Orchestral Conducting awarded by maestro Raúl Munguía, conductor of the Pittsburg State University orchestra. She is an intern for the Bachelor's Degree in Biology at the National Autonomous University of Honduras in the Sula Valley.

Lila Villalobos
Academic Director
Choir and Music Theory
She completed her studies at the Victoriano López School of Music in 1981 and, in 1993, earned her degree as a Primary Education Teacher from the Escuela Normal de Tela. With over 15 years of experience teaching flute, choir, music theory, and music pedagogy, she has mentored numerous Honduran artists, leaving a meaningful impact on each of them. Her passion for teaching has always been the driving force behind her vocation. She currently serves as the Academic Director of Proyecto Uremu, where she also teaches choir and music theory at the Col. San Roberto de Sula and Dream Center learning centers in Choloma. Additionally, she teaches choir and recorder at White Dove School.

Ana Rodriguez
Choir, Bucket Drumming, Ukulele, and Music Theory
She grew up in a musical home, guided by her father, Leopoldo Rodríguez, a self-taught musician and talent mentor. At the age of 13, she began her formal training at the Victoriano López School of Music, drawing inspiration from teachers such as Benjamín Acevedo. Throughout her life, she has led choirs and taught music, firmly believing in the transformative power of the arts. Since 2022, she has been a teacher at Proyecto Uremu, where she passionately supports the artistic and personal growth of children and youth. She firmly believes that music soothes, inspires, uplifts, and dreams of a world where every child can sing and transcend. She currently teaches at the Rivera Hernández and Country learning centers.

Cindy Cáceres
Violin Intern
She is a graduate of White Dove School with a high school diploma in Science and Humanities. She began her musical studies at the Escuela de Aplicación Musical, where piano was her first instrument. In 2019, she joined Proyecto Uremu, where she has grown both artistically and personally as a violinist and singer. At the age of 15, she represented the project in Italy and France, an experience she describes as transformative. She currently continues as a student at Uremu and serves as an intern, passionately sharing her knowledge with beginner violin students at the Col. Guaymuras learning center. For Cindy, music is her language, her driving force, and her greatest passion.

David Funes
Guitar
He is a multi-instrumentalist musician with training in acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, electric bass, and vocal performance. He began his musical journey at the age of 16 at the ABBA School of Music and is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education at UPNFM. He has led musical ensembles in his local church, worked on stage productions and school choirs, and collaborated on audiovisual projects alongside international musicians. Since 2024, he has been part of the teaching team at Proyecto Uremu, where he is now in his second year as a guitar instructor. He shares his passion and experience with new generations of young musicians at the Chamelecón learning centers (Casa Warriors and C.E.B. Perfecto Bobadilla) and at the Dream Center in Choloma.

Geovany Gambarelli
Viola, String Orchestra and Music Theory
He is a violist and music educator with a solid background in orchestral performance and pedagogy. He has been a member of ensembles such as the Central American Youth Symphony Orchestra, the San Pedro Sula Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Sula Valley, and has participated in international festivals in Panama and Nicaragua. He received his training at the Victoriano López School of Music and has pursued further studies in administration and music education in Guatemala, Honduras, and the United States. He currently serves as a viola and string orchestra teacher at Proyecto Uremu, where he shares his experience and passion, fostering the artistic development of children and youth through music at the Dream Center in Choloma and Casa Warriors learning center in Chamelecón Norte.

Josué Morales
Percussion
He is a distinguished graduate of the F.R.D.Z. National Conservatory of Music, where he specialized in Percussion, mastering a wide range of instruments from the marimba to the triangle, including all subfamilies of percussion. His academic training has provided him with a solid technical and theoretical foundation, enabling him to excel in both traditional and contemporary rhythms. With a profile that blends pedagogical skill and a deep passion for music, Maestro Morales is known for his inclusive and adaptable teaching approach—ideal for beginner to intermediate students at the Bo. Barandillas learning center.

Sergio Rodríguez
Violin, Viola and Orchestra
He began his musical training at the Escuela de Aplicación Musical, specializing in violin. He continued his studies at the Victoriano López School of Music and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Violin from Maimónides University in Argentina (2015–2020). Between 2020 and 2023, he pursued a specialization in Chamber Music and Orchestra at the University of Lanús. He also received vocal training with María Belén Rivarola and participated in Latin American Idol and La Academia. He has performed with various ensembles in Argentina as well as the Central American Symphony Orchestra. Since 2023, he has been a violin, viola, and orchestra teacher at Proyecto Uremu, currently teaching at the San Roberto de Sula and Dream Center learning centers in Choloma.

Alexandra Andino
Violin
Alexandra Andino began her musical studies at the age of 12. She trained at the Victoriano López School of Music, where she chose the violin as her main instrument. She served as concertmaster of the advanced orchestra, received an honorable mention in the “Las Medallas” competition (2008), and traveled abroad as a guest musician with the San Pedro Sula Chamber Orchestra. She has been a member of the Honduras Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently the principal second violinist in the Symphony Orchestra of the Sula Valley. For the past three years, she has been a violin teacher at Proyecto Uremu, where she actively contributes to the artistic and personal development of children and youth at the Col. San Roberto de Sula learning center.

Audy Artica
Flute, Clarinet, and Music Theory
She began his musical training at the age of 7 at the Experimental School of Music for Children, continued at the National School of Music, and earned his bachelor's degree in music with a focus on flute from UNAH. He has participated in national and international festivals, receiving instruction from renowned teachers worldwide. He served as principal flutist for the Honduras Philharmonic Orchestra and the FAH Marching Band. He is currently the principal flutist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Sula Valley and teaches flute and music theory at Proyecto Uremu, where he shares his passion by training new generations at the Col. San Roberto de Sula learning center.

Claudia Castillo
Violin, Viola, String Orchestra and Choir
She is a music instructor and sociocultural educator with a strong academic background from Costa Rica. A graduate of the National University of Costa Rica, she holds both a bachelor's and a licentiate degree in music education, as well as in cultural promotion. She has worked as a facilitator, mediator, and educational promoter, developing community programs and fostering social inclusion. She is proficient in multiple instruments, including piano, violin, viola, flute, and guitar. Since 2024, she has been part of the teaching team at Proyecto Uremu, where she teaches violin, viola, string orchestra, and choir at the Rivera Hernández and Buenos Aires learning centers.

Fernando Pagoaga
Brass Instrument and Wind Ensemble
He studied music at the Victoriano López School of Music, where he earned a high school diploma in music with a specialization in trumpet under the guidance of Maestro Irene Montes. He has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians from North America and Europe. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Guillermo Anderson, the Symphony Orchestra of the Sula Valley, MOB Jazz, and as a founding member of Lieb Duo. He holds a degree in Graphic Design from UNITEC, where he received a scholarship for artistic excellence. He is currently in his second year as a teacher at Proyecto Uremu, where he teaches brass instruments and leads the Wind Ensemble at the Col. San Roberto de Sula learning center.

Joseph Lara
Cello Intern
He began his musical studies in 2015 at the age of 10 at the Fonchin School of Music, where he started with the cello and later learned guitar and bass. For three years, he taught cello at the Church of Christ Mahanaim, an experience that deepened his calling as an educator. He has been part of Proyecto Uremu for the past two and a half years, where he has grown both musically and personally as a student. He currently serves as a cello intern, sharing his knowledge with dedication at the Dream Center learning center in Choloma, driven by his desire to continue learning and transforming lives through music.

Leticia Reyes
Violin
She began her musical training in 2016 under the guidance of Mtra. Marcela Fernández, studying violin and music reading. She has performed as a vocalist in various Proyecto Uremu presentations and, in 2019, attended an Orchestral Conducting Workshop led by Dr. Raúl Munguía from the University of Pittsburgh, Kansas. From 2019 to 2024, she taught piano and violin at Armonía Escuela de Artes. She is currently pursuing a Technical Degree in Child Development and Care at CEUTEC and is part of the teaching team at Proyecto Uremu, where she now teaches violin. With great enthusiasm, she contributes to the artistic growth of children at the Col. San Roberto de Sula learning center.

William Taylor
Cello
He began his musical journey at the age of 7 in the piano program at the Escuela de Aplicación Musical, under the guidance of Norma Erazo. At 13, he joined the Victoriano López School of Music, where he specialized in cello under Maestro Cheyene Domínguez. He served as principal cellist of the UNITEC Chamber Orchestra and has performed in concerts alongside international artists. In 2008, he was invited to the Discantus International Festival in Puebla, Mexico, where he had the honor of accompanying renowned cellist Yehuda Hanani. He is currently a cello teacher at Proyecto Uremu, sharing his experience with students at the Col. San Roberto de Sula learning center.
